3. PERPETUAL AWARDS
An award offered by the Club or an individual sponsor to be kept for one year and returned in exchange for a keepsake plaque.
THE FOLLOWING ARE THE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR ELIGIBILITY AND THE AWARDS THAT ARE BEING OFFERED:
RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. When the term “dog” is used, it is intended to mean both sexes unless otherwise stated.
2. The Miniature Schnauzer is the only breed eligible to receive awards.
3. Upon acceptance into the MSCSC, each new member will be presented a copy of the Rules and Regulations of the MSCSC Annual Awards Competition and a copy of the awards which are being offered.
4. To be eligible for a Championship, Performance, Group 1, Best of Specialty Show, a Best in Show plaque, or a Best of Breed in a Terrier show, the owner of the dog must be an active member in good standing with the MSCSC at the time of the achievement and at the time the award is applied for. If the dog is co-owned and the co-owner is not a member, the plaque will be given to the member only.
5. To be eligible for an Achievement award and/or a Perpetual award, the owner or breeder of the dog must be an active member in good standing with the MSCSC for 12 months. If the dog is co- owned or co-bred and the co-owner or co-breeder is not a member, the award will be given to the member only.
6. Associate Members may apply for Championship and/or Performance plaques only (at their cost).
7. Any changes in the Rules and Regulations and/or awards must be made at a club meeting at least three months in advance of the year in which the awards are to be earned.
8. All winnings and placements are to be achieved at an AKC licensed show. The Best in Show plaque is to be earned at an all Breed AKC licensed show.
9. You must apply for each award using a separate approved application form for each eligible dog. All application forms must be complete and legible to be accepted. A photocopy of the AKC Registration Certificate must be submitted with each application for each dog per award.
10. For all awards, the owner(s) or breeder(s) shall be required to submit the date and name of the show(s) based upon winnings or placements during a regular calendar year, January 1, through December 31. All awards shall be verified by the committee in the AKC Awards Magazine.
11. All entries must be postmarked or received by the Awards Chairperson no later than the date so designated by the Awards Committee.
12. With the exception of the Perpetual Awards, when a dog is co-owned or co-bred by co-members and a duplicated award is desired, one will be paid for by the sponsor and the duplicate(s) will be paid for by the co-owner(s)/co-breeder(s).
13. With the achieving of a Perpetual Award, a keepsake plaque will be given to and be retained by the winner when the Perpetual Award is returned to the Awards Committee. The plaque will be paid for by the MSCSC, and any duplicate keepsake plaques will be paid for by the co-owner(s) or co-breeder(s).
14. All performance awards will be based on the average of the qualifying scores for which the degree title is given, from the regular classes (Novice, Open, Utility and OTCH).
15. There will be a limit of $25.00 per Achievement Award.
16. The sponsor of each Achievement Award will be liable for one award only and the cost of additional awards in the case of ties will be paid for by MSCSC.
17. Any additional bases added to a Perpetual Award will be paid for by MSCSC.
18. The Awards Chairperson will present a list of sponsors and any additional requests for duplicated awards to the treasurer within 15 days after the Awards Presentation Meeting. Within 15 days the treasurer will send to the sponsors their amount due and the sponsors will have 15 days to remit their payment to the treasurer.
19. The Awards Presentation Meeting shall be held in a month which will allow the Awards Committee ample time to verify awards as published in the AKC Awards Magazine.
THE AWARDS LISTED BELOW ARE OFFERED FOR THE 2007 YEAR AND WILL BE PRESENTED TO THE RECIPIENTS AT AN AWARDS DINNER TO BE HELD IN 2008. THE EVENT, USUALLY HELD IN MAY, IS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE CLUB YEAR.
